It all started one day at the zoo.

An independent toddler with a problem

My husband was out for an adventurous day at the LA Zoo with our year-old daughter. She had recently mastered her pincer grasp and was eager to feed herself her own snacks on stroller rides. En route to the elephants, he offered her some Cheerios® to snack on while in her jogging stroller. But he soon realized that she was having difficulty enjoying her snack. No matter where he put the bowl, she would accidentally knock it over or drop it on the ground. Or, if he wedged it in a place where it would not easily fall, it was too difficult for her to reach. Cheerios® everywhere but where she wanted them to be — she grew frustrated, and so did he...

A creative dad with a solution

But he noticed that if he put a few Cheerios® at a time on her lap, she could easily pick them up and eat them. She was comfortable and content.

Exacerbated, I thought, there must be a better way. A way to secure the bowl in place; A place that's easy for her to reach; A place that isn't the ground. That's when I looked down at her little lap — and realized that’s exactly where the snacks should have been all along.

The next day, wearabowl was born...

and soon after, so were these.

A career mom with a vision

Hi! Thanks for being here. I’m Chandra Feltus, Co-Founder and CEO of wearabowl.

This photo was taken at the LA Zoo, a few years after the “aha moment.”

When my husband came home with the idea, I was immediately hooked. I knew I had to move on it.

While my career has been spent building businesses far outside the baby industry, I couldn’t ignore what this was — a simple, meaningful solution that just made sense. So I got to work bringing it to life alongside my full-time career, driven by the belief that more families needed this.

Along the way, I've been supported by an incredible network — a global community of entrepreneurs, working mothers, and mentors who've helped guide, challenge, and champion me.

What started as a connected moment between a dad and his daughter has grown into something much bigger — a shared experience for families everywhere. My motivation grows stronger each day, fueled by the vision of seeing wearabowl® on little laps in strollers everywhere. Knowing how much our own kids have loved theirs, I just knew many more out there would too.

I’m so glad you’re here — and I’d love for you to be part of the journey.

Our Inspiration: Our Kids

My name, “Chandra,” is Sanskrit for moon.

Our first daughter’s name is inspired by the “child of the moon.” 🌔

Our twin daughter’s name represents the sun and the Bay of Fundy. ☀️

Our twin son’s name embodies the Atlantic Ocean. 🌊

Together, they share a special "moon-tidal" connection. The bond between our twins reflects the shared waters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Bay of Fundy, home to the highest tides in the world — and where I grew up.

Moon Phase, Sun Rays, and Ocean Waves are the core prints of wearabowl® — a reflection of that connection, and our values rooted in nature and the simple joys in life.
